BERHAMPUR: A father-in-law, who was arrested earlier on the charge of sexual assault on his daughter-in-law allegedly hired a professional killer to eliminate the woman after coming out of jail. The police arrested the father-in- law, Sala Asa Reddy, from Matia Borei village under the Patapur police station in Ganjam district on Tuesday. It followed the arrest of an alleged criminal, Rabindra Das, from B. Turubudi village by the personnel of the Digapahandi police station. Rabindra allegedly entered the house of K. Padmanabh Reddy and tried to kill his daughter S. Kanakamma in the wee hours of Tuesday. However, the villagers of B. Turubudi came to the rescue of the family in time and nabbed Rabindra. He was later arrested by the police. Rabindra had several cases of violence pending against him at different police stations of Berhampur and its adjoining areas. His interrogation revealed the murder plot by Asa Reddy. Basing on the confession by Rabindra, the police arrested Asa Reddy.
