Petition against hotel

BANGALORE: A petition was filed in the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday seeking to restrain the authorities in Mysore city from giving licence to a private firm to start a hotel on the premises of a girls hostel belonging to Bhanumaiah College, Mysore.

The petitioner, B. Umesh, the grandson of the founder of the D. Bhanumaiah Educational Trust, Mysore. said he had sent representations to the Education Department against the decision of the trust to permit a hotel to come up on the hostel premises. He has urged the court to direct the authorities not to issue licence to the enterprise.
