Woman attacks leopard to save her son

Bahraich: A young woman literally brought her son back from the jaws of death as she pounced on a leopard running away with her child, forcing the big cat to leave him and escape into the wild.

The incident occurred in Jagapurva village adjoining the Katarniaghat wildlife sanctuary on Tuesday, sources said.

Seeing that a leopard has taken hold of her son, the woman attacked the beast with a sharp-edged weapon, taking it by surprise, Forest Department sources said.

Caught unawares, the leopard left its prey and ran into the forests. The boy who sustained injuries in the process has been hospitalised, the sources said. — PTI
