Tigers XI, Ramana CC post wins

Salem: Tigers XI and V. Ramana cricket clubs scored convincing wins in the Canara Bank-SDCA first division league at the SSP grounds here recently.

The scores: First division: Sivanthi CC 191 in 42 overs (S. Thangaraj 64, J. Eniyan four for 34) lost to Tigers XI CC 192 for seven in 38 overs (M. Vijayakumar 53); V. Ramana CC 236 for nine in 40 overs bt Kannan CC 187 in 40 overs (Eswaran four for 19).

Second division: Gandhiji CC w/o. Power CC; Students Jr. CC 205 for seven in 45 overs (Antony 54, Navin 42) bt Maratha CC 119 in 45 overs; SCC 163 in 45 overs (Murugan 43, C. Rajkumar four for 20) lost to Jaganathan CC 164 for five in 23 overs (J. Kathiravan 62).

Umpires’ clinic

At Coimbatore, the District hockey association will conduct an umpires’ clinic at the Suguna Rip School on June 21 and 22. Mohammed Muneer, international umpire and convenor of the Umpires Board in Tamil Nadu, has come forward to hold the sessions.

Selection trials
