Saurabh shoots into lead

Coimbatore: It was a huge challenge for the golfers to tackle the winds for the second day in succession. But Delhi’s Saurabh Bahuguna walked the course in style to card a one-over 73 and wrest the lead from Pawan Kumar in the LG Coimbatore Open amateur golf championship at the Coimbatore Golf Club here on Wednesday.

Saurabh, who returned a bogey-free back nine and registered a 36-hole aggregate of five-over 149, was one stroke adrift of H.S. Kang.

The scores (after 36 holes): 149 Saurabh Bahuguna (76, 73); 150 H.S. Kang (75, 75); 151 Vignesh Ranga Rao (77, 74), Vikram Rana (76, 75); 152 Navtez Singh (78, 74), Arshdeep Tiwana (77, 75), Gagan Verma (77, 75), Tarun Ghogale (76, 76); 153 Manav Das (76, 77); 154 Simarjeet Singh (78, 76), Moin Malak (75, 79), Pawan Kumar (73, 81); 155 Samaresh Sardar (77, 78); 156 Rahul Bajaj (75, 81); 157 Arjun Lall (81, 76).
