Chennai: Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) President N. Srinivasan said here on Wednesday that the “allegations made against the TNCA” by former BCCI and TNCA President A.C. Muttiah “were baseless.” Talking to presspersons, Mr. Srinivasan said, “It is sad that these remarks were made by a former association President before the TNCA annual general body meeting on June 29.” He highlighted the achievements of the TNCA. “The TNCA is a structured organisation, among the finest in the country. Cricket has always been its priority,” he said. Mr. Srinivasan, also the Treasurer of the BCCI, said, “We have renovated the pavilion, improved facilities for the spectators. We conducted the international matches and the IPL successfully. “We have started the TNCA Academy which has helped the youngsters immensely. Cricketers from the districts have been encouraged. Over 200 cricketers from the districts took part in the various leagues here last season. Around 50 boys from the districts participated in the different age-group competitions in the city. All these cricketers were provided accommodation, looked after by the TNCA.” “The TNCA has grown,” he said. “Everyone knows about the TNCA’s financial health then and now,” Mr. Srinivasan added.
