Special ‘abishekams’ at Palani temples

PALANI: Special Annabishekam was performed to Lord Dhandayuthapaniswamy on the hill temple here on Wednesday.
After ‘uchi kaala’ pujas, special abishekam with cooked rice was performed to the main deity. Varieties of rice were offered to the lord.
Earlier, special homams were also performed at Paravel mandapam on the hill using 108 conches as part of the ceremony.
This ceremony was celebrated once in a year in Aani, Tamil month.
Similar ceremony would be performed to Lord Muthukumaraswamy at Thiruavinankudi Temple, to Sri Somaskandhar in Periya Nayaki Amman Temple in the town on Thursday and to main deity in Sri Periya Avudaiyar Temple on Manur Road on Saturday.
