Three arrested in R.K. Puram case NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old domestic help of Nepalese origin and two accomplices have been arrested for allegedly drugging a 35-year-old businessman and his seven-year-old son and committing theft at their house in R.K. Puram here this past month. Charanjeet Singh and his son Rounak Singh were found unconscious in their house on May 7 by some relatives. The victims later told the police that they had hired a domestic help named Deepak two weeks ago. Deepak allegedly mixed sedatives in their food on May 6 night and made off with cash and valuables after the father-son duo were rendered unconscious. Deepak was hired at the instance of one Ram Kishan alias Ramu, but the family had not got him verified by the police. Nepalese originDuring investigation, the police questioned various people of Nepalese origin in the area and arrested Deepak from a jhuggi-jhonpri cluster in the Azadpur Industrial Area. Further investigation revealed that the theft was committed at the instance of alleged mastermind Raju Thapa (30) and Surender Bahadur (37) who formed part of a well-organised gang involved in several cases of theft by domestic helps. Raju and Surender helped Deepak find the job and allegedly provided him with the sedative for mixing in the evening meals of the businessman and his son. After the father-son duo were rendered unconscious, Deepak informed Raju and Surender and the three allegedly made off with cash and jewellery valued at Rs.2 lakh. Similar caseDeepak was earlier found to be involved in a similar case in October 2007 when he made off with cash and jewellery worth Rs.5 lakh from the house of his employer Daljeet Singh in Model Town. In March, he decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs.7 lakh when his employer Rupender Singh had gone out to India Gate along with his family.
