BANGALORE: The charred body of a 30-year-old man was found abandoned next to railway track near Yelahanka Railway Station on Wednesday. According to the Yelahanka New Town police, the body was found partly wrapped in gunny bag. The police said the victim had been bludgeoned and burnt before abandoning the body near the railway track. The police have recovered a mobile phone near the body. “The SIM card is in the name of a person at Kenchanahalli. A police team has been sent to verify the address,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Basavaraj Malagatti. Mr. Malagatti said there had been five cases of abandoning burnt bodies in areas under Devanahalli police station limits. The police had not been able to identify the victims. Killed in accidentA 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he hit a road median on Sarjapur Road on Tuesday night. The police said the victim Arun, a resident of Laxmanarao Slum, was returning from work. He lost control over his motorcycle and hit a median. Arun was taken to a private hospital, where he died. The Adugodi traffic police have registered a case. Man ends lifeA 25-year-old man, working in a communication firm in Gandhinagar, died after hanging himself from the ceiling fan in the office on Wednesday. The police said the victim Prasad was not happy with the marriage of his sister. The Upparpet police have registered a case. Cash taken awayTwo persons diverted the attention of Sanaullah, a college professor, and went away with Rs. 1.5 lakh near Florence School in R.T. Nagar on Wednesday. The police said Mr. Sanaullah, a resident of Ganganagar, withdrew the amount from ICICI Bank branch in R.T. Nagar. He kept the amount in the car and started to drive. Near Florence School, two persons made Mr. Sanaullah stop his car by pointing to him that one of the tyres was flat. The two took away the cash when Mr. Sanaullah went to check the tyre.
