VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam retained the G. Kannama Raju Trophy by topping the round-robin league in the ACA North Zone inter-district under-19 cricket tournament. It gained the first innings lead over Srikakulam in the two-day match here on Wednesday. East Godavari forced Vizianagaram to follow on and the match ended in a draw. Visakhapatnam amassed 431 for six against Srikakulam’s first-inning total of 129, while East Godavari restricted Vizianagaram to 109 in its first knock after scoring 286. Former Olympic weightlifter, M.V. Manikyalu, gave away the trophy to the winner. The scores: Srikakulam 129 and 149 for six in 52 overs (M. Chaitanya 43) drew with Visakhapatnam 431 for six in 90 overs (Ch. Praneeth Kumar 83, Ch. Rajesh Yadav 75, L. Sravan Kumar 72, P. Mahesh Babu 57, N. Sunil Kumar Varma 52, B. Manoj Kumar four for 104); East Godavari 286 drew with Vizianagaram 109 in 44.2 overs (S. Praveen 45, G.D.S. Suresh Kumar four for 30) and 137 for seven in 50 overs (B.
