It promises to promote the latest in energy, and infrastructure products and services It aims to explore innovative technologies for environmental friendly manufacturing practices TIRUCHI: Confederation of Indian Industry, Tiruchi Zone, has informed that its Energex 2008 – Energy Excellence Exhibition – will take place at the St. John Vestry Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School from September 26 to 28. Billed as a signature event, the second edition of Energex (the first was conducted in 2005) promises to promote the latest in energy, and infrastructure products and services, in a market on a growth path. During Energex 2005, Tiruchi was showcased as a major engineering hub and energy equipment capital of India. There were over 50 exhibitors and 3,000 participants, and business worth Rs.200 crore was generated. According to the organisers, Tiruchi is on the verge of consolidating its position as the “Energy equipment and fabrication capital of India”. Industries here have developed sound expertise for designing and making a wide range of boilers and boiler components, heat exchangers and pressure vessels, heat recovery systems, desalination, deaeration, water treatment equipments, piping and structural and machining wind mill equipments and earth moving equipment. With the country’s power sector poised for a big leap, Tiruchi has a pre-eminent place in the power equipment manufacturing sector in India. Many companies in Tiruchi have started making products for South East Asian and Middle East markets, a CII communication said. This year’s conference aims to explore innovative technologies for environmental friendly and safer manufacturing practices and equipment, provide a platform for exchange of ideas and discussions about future power generation technologies and serve as a forum for discussing possible ways of meeting the technical challenges faced by power industry. According to the communication, the event encompasses one and a half day conference on Advanced Technologies in Power Generation with the theme ‘Power to Power the World’ on 26th & 27th September at Hotel Sangam. The three sessions of the conference: Super Critical / High Efficiency Technologies for Utilities; Sub Critical / Other Technologies for Industries and Green Energy Technologies for the Globe, to create the platform to explore innovative technologies for environmentally friendly and safer manufacturing practices and equipments.
