It is raining sport on small screen

With monsoon intensifying, most people prefer to stay indoors these days. You will not regret it if you are a sports fan. Television is beaming quality sporting action from across the globe.

Euro 2008, the European football championship, in Switzerland and Austria is the biggest attraction. The matches are on Star Sports and ESPN (many viewers in Kozhikode were frustrated when a cable service provider provided Hindi commentary feed for th e Russia-Sweden match. The problem was rectified fairly soon).

For cricket fans, Star Cricket and Ten Sports are the channels to watch, for the West Indies Vs Australia and England Vs New Zealand one-day series. For those who are only interested in India’s matches, the Asia Cup in Pakistan is kicking off on June 24. A day earlier, the most followed tennis tourney, Wimbledon, begins in London.
