MANGALORE: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mangalore and Mani Krishnaswamy Academy, Surathkal, will jointly organise “Griha sangeetha malika” music programmes at the ‘Anupallavi’ home in Surathkal, on select days between June 22 and August 17. ProgrammeStudents from music schools in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod districts will present carnatic vocal concerts, P. Nityananda Rao, secretary of the academy, said in a release. Students of Veena Vadini Sangeetha Vidya Peeta, Perla, will present the concert on June 22 and those of Purandaradasa Sangeetha Kala Mandira, Kasaragod, on June 29. Artistes of Sa Re Ga Ma Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Ambalpady, will perform on July 6 and the Sunada Sangeetha Kala Vidyalaya, Puttur, on July 20. Students of Krishna Gana Sudha Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mangalore, will present the concert on July 27. Students of Ganashree Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Marnamikatta, will perform on August 3. Artistes of Nada Saraswathi Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mangalore, will perform on August 10 and of Lathangi Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Udupi on August 17. ConcertsAll the concerts will be held from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. FestivalThere will be a classical music and dance festival at the Town Hall here from October 15 to 19, 2008, he said.
