Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday ruled out the possibility of selling PWD land in Amritsar. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday Mr. Badal said no government land belonging to PWD at prime location in the city would be auctioned. “I announce that all PWD rest houses would not be sold to collect funds. Even Circuit House [Rest House] which is located at a prime location in the city would be made better,” he said. Mr. Badal was here to hand over a cheque of Rs.66.87 crore to the Municipal Corporation for the overall development of the city. He said, of the Rs.66.87 crore, a sum of Rs.20 crore each would be spent on the development of outer wards, solid waste management and laying of sewer lines. About Rs.5 crore would be utilised for tree plantation as part of clean environment project. — PTI
