ELURU: TDP former minister Maradani Ranga Rao’s residence at Satavahana Nagar on the city outskirts turned out to be hotspot for a battery of shutter bugs, media personnel and TDP functionaries in the face of arrangements by him to announce his resignation from the party at a media conference on Thursday. He made all arrangements for the event. In the meantime, the top brass smelt the rat and alerted the party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was on Meekosam programme in north coastal districts. Mr. Naidu, in turn, was reported to have asked party former union minister Bolla Bulliramaiah and district party president Kothapalli Subbarayudu to dissuade Mr. Ranga Rao from deserting the party. As the deadline for the media conference was fast the party leadership mounted pressure on the disgruntled leader to suspend the media conference and leave for Tanuku for a dialogue with Mr. Bulliramaiah and Mr. Subbarayudu.
