THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The University of Kerala will hold a special convocation at its Senate Hall here on Friday to honour Supreme Court Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan with its honorary degree of Doctor of Laws. Governor R.L. Bhatia, who is also the Chancellor of the university, will confer the degree on Mr. Balakrishnan at the programme at 11 a.m. Fifteen minutes prior to the actual ceremony, the university will hold a special Senate meeting, where the Vice-Chancellor will introduce a one-line resolution seeking the Senate’s nod for presenting the honorary degree to Mr. Balakrishnan in recognition of his overall contributions in the field of law.
