Thiruvananthapuram: The KSU has called for an education bandh on Friday. Hibi Eden, president of the organisation, said here on Thursday that it was to protest against the police’s bid to drown in blood the agitation being organised by the KSU demanding the withdrawal of the social studies textbook of standard VII and restoration of government fees for the merit seats in self-financing colleges. He took exception to the reported comparison of the KSU protest to that of Naxalites by the Home Minister. He said that SFI and DYFI workers who barged into police stations, attacked policemen and got the accused in cases forcibly released were more qualified for such a comparison.
