HYDERABAD: Decision making becomes easier, if one is well informed. That was the idea behind the career counselling sessions organised by ‘The Hindu Education Plus’ at 12 different centres across Andhra Pradesh.

Feedback

And going by the feedback received from these different centres from more than 10,500 students and their parents who attended these programmes, The Hindu has succeeded in achieving this goal.

Video conferencing

Last of these counselling sessions was organised on Thursday using state-of-the-art video conferencing facility with equipment provided by ‘SEC Communications Limited’ and bandwidth by BSNL to link Hyderabad with Nizamabad, Kadapa, Kurnool and Khammam district headquarters.

Advice from renowned academicians sitting in Hyderabad was beamed real time to these four centres where students and their parents sat glued to their seats from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

Experts speak

Those who were ready to throw light on career prospects of different subjects and the skills required to study them were: Dr. P. Narsimha Reddy, Principal of Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST); Prof. N. Ravi Shankar, HoD, CSE, SNIST; Maj. V.A. Narayana of CMR College of Engineering and Technology; Dr. P. Karunakar of Panineeya Mahavidyalaya Institute of Dental Sciences; Dr. Sai Krishna, HoD, Dept. of Biotechnology, CBIT; Mr. NLN Reddy, Placement Officer, CBIT and M. Venkata Reddy, member of Pharmacy Council of India.

In other centres like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Anantapur, Nellore, Hyderabad and Warangal, there was direct interaction with other renowned academicians.

The mission of The Hindu in empowering students and preparing them to succeed in all their endeavours continues. T.I.M.E was the main sponsor for all the events.
