Rourkela: CBI sleuths on Thursday caught red handed Amulya Kumar Acharya, a doctor of the Rourkela Steel Plant run Ispat General Hospital, while accepting Rs. 1,000 in an unauthorised manner from a non-RSP patient. CBI sources said one Rama Nayak had been to the chamber of Acharya for treatment in the hospital after payment of requisite fee. However, the doctor asked the patient to come to his residence for a thorough check-up and demanded Rs.1,000 for the treatment. The doctor would be produced at the CBI court at Bhubaneswar on Friday, the sources said. Nine girls rescuedNine minor tribal girls were rescued by the Orissa police here while they were being trafficked to other states. A youth, suspected to be a middleman, was detained during the raid of bus at Kuchinda near Vedvyas, on the outskirts of the town on Wednesday. The girls, aged between 12 and 16 years, hailed from different villages in neighbouring Sambalpur district. - PTI
