CHAMARAJANAGAR: Efforts are being made to bring about development in tribal “hadis” in Chamarajanagar district, Deputy Commissioner K. Vishwanath Reddy has said. He was speaking after reviewing the progress of works at the taluk-level “janasamparka” meeting organised at Purani Podu in B.R. Hills on Thursday. Steps would be taken to prepare a cluster plan for the development of the Soliga tribal community. He instructed officials to solve the drinking water problem, link roads and provide electricity to tribal settlements in B.R. Hills. Mr. Reddy instructed the Forest Department officials to make arrangements for solar fencing in agricultural lands. Steps would be taken to release revolving funds to “Sthree Shakti” group, he said. The Soliga tribal people submitted a memorandum to Mr. Reddy demanding four fair price shops in girijana “hadis.” They also sought issue of ration cards under the “Anthyodaya” scheme, and a health sub-centre.
