Ram Film: Ready… dhenikaina Cast: Ram, Genelia Direction: Seenu Vytla Elopement is no big deal in movies or real life but winning the hearts of the girl’s family by hook or crook and obtaining their consent for marriage has become a customary theme for many filmmakers. Director Seenu Vytla repeats more or less the same content. Writers Gopimohan and Kona Venkatpack the film with gags and amusing lines and the rest of the battle is won by cool and convincing performances by the cast. The story revolves around two warring brothers, Jayaparakash Reddy and Kota Srinivasa Rao, who dote on their niece Pooja (Genelia). Each of them wants Pooja to marry their sons but she has already lost her heart to Chandu (Ram) who comes from a joint family. The movie begins with Chandu helping his cousin elope and then, while helping out a friend who is in a similar problem, bumps into Pooja. He brings her home and she woos his family. There are some scenes which are straight out of ‘Bommarillu’ and ‘Dee’. Absolutely no novelty but who’s complaining when there is Sunil who has you in splits with his self-deprecating humour and Brahmanandam’s poker-faced expressions fill up the screen with mirth. This film is probably a cakewalk for Ram despite a non-stellar role. Genelia has now become an expert in playing the bubbly, effervescent and innocent girl. JP Reddy is good as a villain. The screenplay is tight and characters are well connected. The music is not very catchy, cinematography glistens and editing could have been sharper. The action scenes are interesting. Y.
