N. Chandrababu Naidu VIZIANAGARAM: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will create awareness among people on the government’s liquor policy and intensify its agitation, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu has said. Lauding Roja, Telugu Mahila president, for her fight against belt shops, Mr. Naidu told a press conference at Peda Manapuram, about 35 km from here, on Thursday that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had once again launched a counter attack against his critics when in reality there was severe opposition from political parties and mass organisations, particularly women, against the government’s promotion policy on liquor. On fertilizer shortage, he said the government lacked control over hoarders and black-marketers and added there was severe shortage in supplies. To another query on naming the proposed Aviation University at Begumpet airport after N.T. Rama Rao, Mr. Naidu suggested the name of Rajiv Gandhi as it would be appropriate since the former Prime Minister worked as a pilot and added that it was a practice to name international airports after local leaders.
