BANGALORE: After two rounds in the World junior golf championship underway at Nagoya, Japan, India had slipped to 12th position after lying joint seventh after the opening round, according to a message received from non-playing captain Raian Irani. The Indian boys’ team consisting of Chikkarangappa, Rahul Bakshi, Rashid Khan and Amanjyot Singh failed to break par on the second round and with a cumulative (best three cards), score of +5 dropped to 12th position. Overnight leader and title holder Sweden lost one place to lie second while England made a huge improvement to go into the lead on the second day. The placings (after two rounds): 1. England (11 under after two rounds), 2. Sweden (nine under), 3. Denmark & Norway (eight under), 5. USA (six under).
