BANGALORE: The 11th sub-junior & 13th challenger National rowing championship was formally inaugurated by Brig. R.M. Mittal, Commandant, MEG & Centre, at the Trishna Club, Ulsoor Lake, here on Thursday. Organised jointly by the Rowing Federation of India and the Karnataka Amateur Rowing Association, the four-day championship will end on June 22. The day’s programme also included a number of heats in the challenger men’s single scull, men’s fours, sub-junior boys’ double sculls, sub-junior boys’ pairs, sub-junior girls’ pairs events. The participating teams: TN, AP, Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Orrisa, Assam, MP, Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, J&K, Corps of Engineers Rowing Association (CERA), Karnataka. — Special Correspondent
