Students at an exhibition on vector-borne disease.

PUDUCHERRY: The Health Department on Thursday organised a “Vector Borne Disease Awareness Camp-cum-Exhibition” for students of Annai Sivagamy Government Girl’s Higher Secondary School at Mudaliarpet.

The camp-cum-exhibition was part of the Health Department’s “Anti-Malaria Month” programme to highlight issues concerning the disease.

Assistant Director (Malaria) N. Nilamani said the department would hold more such programmes for students and those living in vulnerable areas.

Spread awareness

The purpose of organising exhibitions was to educate the students on how the disease spreads and about the mosquito that caused the disease. He said it was also to find ways to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.
