Share autorickshaws detained

TAMBARAM: Personnel of the Regional Transport Office, Meenambakkam (at Alandur) and Motor Vehicle Inspector at Tambaram have been initiating action against “share autorickshaws” and lorries violating the rules, in the past couple of weeks.
G. Sampath Kumar, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Tambaram, said violations by share autorickshaws included overloading, modifying the seats to accommodate more than the permitted number of passengers, operating in places outside those sanctioned in the permits and failure to produce valid documents.
