KOCHI: There is good news for visual media enthusiasts in the city. The Kerala State Youth Welfare Board, in association with the Union Ministry for Youth Affairs, has come out with training programmes on five different aspects of visual media lasting varying periods. Not only can the participants learn the nuances of the profession, but they can learn it free as well. They only need to prove their interest in the field by clearing four different tests — aptitude, attitude, creativity and technical knowledge — and an interview. The programmes will be offered in three centres at Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. Inspire, a Kochi-based visual media training institute would associate with the venture. The applicants should not be aged above 30 years. Those interested should apply with their bio-data and two passport size photographs before June 30 to District Youth Programme Officer, Kerala State Youth Welfare Board, Youth Centre, Civil Station, Kakkanad, Kochi – 30. The programme for which they are applying should be written on the face of the cover. Bindhu Antony, District Youth Programme Officer, Ravi Varma, director, Inspire, and Ayilyan also attended the press meet. For more details contact: 94472 82964, 98469 65642.
