PDS kerosene seized

Krishnagiri: District supply officials seized 340 litres of kerosene worth Rs.4,800 meant for supply under the public distribution system here on Friday. Acting on a tip-off a team were conducting surprise raids in Krishnagiri town when they found 340 litres of kerosene hoarded in the granite factory of one Sakthivel. He was arrested. In another incident a team seized 31 bags of rice worth Rs.19,000, which was hoarded in the house of one Venkatesan. He was arrested and cases registered under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act.
