Syrian President visits IIM-B

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Syrian President Bashar al-Assad visited the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B) on Friday. After listening to a presentation by Director Pankaj Chandra on IIM-B, the Syrian President expressed admiration for the variety of programmes offered and the depth of work being done at IIM-B, according to a press release.

He was positive that it would be beneficial to develop linkages between IIM-B and institutions in Syria engaged in the fields of public administration and business management, such as the Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA). He was pleasantly surprised to learn that IIM-B conducted courses outside India, and expressed the feeling that this could be extended to Syria too. He was keen on exploring the possibility of IIM-B taking up programmes for various Ministries in Syria.
