THANJAVUR: Hectic preparations are going on for the visit of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to Thanjavur on June 24. The Chief Minister presides over the bi-centennial celebrations of the constitution of the Thanjavur district court. A big pandal is being put up at the entrance of the Karikal Cholan auditorium at Tamil University campus, the venue of the meeting, to accommodate the crowd. The Union Minister of State for Finance S.S. Palani Manickam and the Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil University M. Rajendran, L. Ganesan MP, M. Karunakaran, District Revenue Officer, inspected the works going on at the auditorium. The Minister asked the officials to expedite the work and finish it on time. The Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan, Supreme court Judge P. Sadasivam, Chief Justice of Madras High court A.K. Ganguli, Chairman of Law Commission of India A. R. Lakshmanan, are expected to participate in the function.
