NSS announces cash award for slogan competition

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry cell of the National Service Scheme (NSS) on Friday announced a cash award of Rs.1,000 for the student who coined the best slogan to be inscribed on T-shirts and caps for distribution to volunteers.

In a statement here, coordinator of the NSS cell E.M.Rajan it had been decided at a consultative committee meeting of the NSS chaired by Education Minister M.O.H.F.Shahjahan to hold the competition for students to coin slogans highlighting the principles of the scheme.

The one adjudged the best would be inscribed on the T-shirts and caps.

Those who wished to participate in the competition should coin slogans which did not exceed six words and they should be submitted to the NSS office before July 7, he added.
