Varanasi: A 40-year-old married woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover in Barsathi area of Jaunpur district in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Uma Devi was stabbed to death by her lover Rajesh Upadhyay in Karo village of the district on Thursday evening, SP Jaunpur Chandra Prakash said. Rajesh stabbed her several times in a fit of rage as she refused to go somewhere along with him, he said. She was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. The victim, a mother of four, had strained relations with her husband and was allegedly having an affair with Rajesh. Her body has been sent for a post mortem and a search is on to nab Rajesh, the official said.
