Cooperative union demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Cooperative Union has submitted a memorandum to Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram urging him to withdraw the service tax imposed on the cooperative sector. Chairman of the union E. Narayanan said that the Union Minister had promised to consider the demand provided the items needing exemption were submitted to the Finance Ministry. — Staff Reporter
