‘Develop cyber park in Kozhikode’

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government should give due importance to setting up a cyber park in Kozhikode rather than plan IT parks in all districts, V.K. Mathews, chairman and chief executive officer of the IBS group of companies, has said.

At a Meet-the-Press programme organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club here on Friday, Mr. Mathews, who is also adviser to the State government on information technology (IT), industry and management education, said Kozhikode had all the resources for the park to develop and IBS would set up the first unit there.

He said Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode should be developed as the main hubs of the industry at an accelerated pace. Setting up parks in the neighbouring districts should be left to entrepreneurs. Special Economic Zones (SEZ) were imperative for the IT sector.
