Roja surrenders in police station

TIRUPATI: R. K. Roja, film actor and president of the TDP women’s wing, surrendered at Alipiri police station in Tirupati in the presence of her lawyer and party activists on Friday.

Her surrender is a sequel to the arrest warrant issued against her under Sections 448 and 427 of IPC. Along with her surety-holders she moved her application for bail and is said to have produced a solvency certificate for Rs. 3 lakh.

Amid a brief drama in the presence of a posse of women cadres, Roja handed the petition to Inspector Subbanna who after a due process released her on bail.
