A.P. to set up new corporation

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh government has firmed up plans to establish a new corporation exclusively to meet the infrastructure requirements of education and welfare sectors. As Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has approved the proposal, formal orders about the institution of the corporation may be issued in a few days, say senior officials.
Rachel Chatterjee, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, told The Hindu that the objective of the corporation was to pool the engineering resource of the government that was scattered across various departments. The resource pool was contemplated in view of a major programme to strengthen school education in the government sector.
