Khanduri re-allocates portfolios

DEHRA DUN: Uttarakhand Chief Minister B. C. Khanduri has re-allocated the portfolios of his ministers shedding some of his load but retaining 26 portfolios including Home, Finance, Revenue and Public Works Department.

Ajay Tamta, elevated to the rank of a Cabinet Minister recently, has been given the charge of Horticulture, Prisons, Civil Defence and Home Guards.

Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the most powerful minister, retains Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology and gets additional charge of Bio-tech and Language.

Matwar Singh Kandari will now look after Irrigation, Drinking Water, River Projects on the Indo-Nepal Border, Women Empowerment and Child Welfare.

Banshi Dhar Bhagat will be the Minister for Forests and Wildlife, Environment, Watershed Management and Transport.

Minister for Tourism

Prakash Pant will be the Minister for Tourism, Religious Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs, Planning and Externally Supported Projects.

Bishan Singh Chufal will be the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Social Welfare.

Dewakar Bhatt, Minister from the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, will now look after Food and Civil Supplies, Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation.

Trivendra Singh Rawat will look after Agriculture, Minor Irrigation, Animal Husbandry, Milk Development and Fisheries.

Madan Kaushik will be the Minister for School Education, Cane Development and Excise. Rajendra Bhandari will look after Labour, Employment and Training, Census Sports and Youth Welfare.

Minister of State Bina Maharana will look after Women’s Empowerment and Child Development.
