Achuthanandan flays Baalu

KOCHI: Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has criticised Union Minister for Shipping and Surface Transport T.R. Baalu for adopting a negative attitude towards the needs of Kerala.

Mr. Achuthanandan was reacting to media reports that Mr. Baalu had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stating that the State had not completed the land acquisition process for the Vallarpadam international container terminal in Kochi.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the inauguration of the solid waste treatment plant at Brahmapuram, Mr. Achuthanandan said Mr. Baalu was only keen on protecting the interests of Tamil Nadu.
