6,500-km R&B roads to be developed

MAHABUBNAGAR: As many as 6,500 km of R&B roads will be taken up with an outlay of Rs. 900 crore as a long term performance based project in the State, said the Minister for Roads and Buildings T. Jeevan Reddy.

The Minister was participating in various developmental porgrammes in Kalwakurthy assembly constituency in the district on Friday.

Speaking to media persons at Kalwakurthy, the Minister informed that the State government has sanctioned Rs. 125 crore for the R&B road between Kollapur and Sangameshwara besides Rs. 50 crore to make a double road between Kalwakurthy and Kollapur.

Mr. Jeevan Reddy also said that proposals were submitted to the Government of India to declare the Kalwakurthy – Hyderabad road a National Highway.

He said that the Kalwakurthy – Mahabubnagar road would be made as double road keeping in view the heavy traffic on the road. District Collector V.Usharani, Kalwakurthy MLA Yedma Kishta Reddy and others spoke.
