22-year-old killed in accident

NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old man riding pillion on a scooter was run over by a Blueline bus in Connaught Place here on Friday.

The accident took place when the bus plying between Anand Vihar and Punjabi Bagh hit the scooter on Barakhamba Road around 4 p.m. Both Manpreet and Akmal sustained injuries and were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Akmal was declared brought dead, while Manpreet escaped with minor injuries. Akmal worked for a private company in Patel Nagar.

A case has been registered at the Tilak Nagar police station and the bus impounded. The bus driver is absconding.
