THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 290 international buyers and 550 domestic buyers have registered till date for the fifth edition of the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) to be held from September 21 to 23 in Kochi. Around 300 international buyers from 50 countries are expected to participate in the three-day KTM 2008. Minister for Tourism Kodiyeri Balakrishnan reviewed the progress made by various committees set up for the smooth conduct of the KTM. “Delegates from South Africa and Brazil have confirmed participation and contingents from more foreign countries are expected this year,” Mr. Balakrishnan said. For the first time, a new software had been introduced to facilitate buyers to fix appointments with sellers during the days of the mart. With an increase of 25 per cent in the number of stalls, the layout for the KTM consist of 196 modules, 76 tables and 16 houseboat parking bays. The meeting was told that all stalls had been sold out.
