CHANDIGARH: Following protests by villagers and a huge public outcry, the Bhiwani police have ordered a probe into the alleged killing of a young taxi driver by policemen at a barricade near Tosham town late on Wednesday night. According to information received at the State headquarters here, Mahinder was shot dead by a police party after he reportedly ignored the signal by the policemen to stop at the barricade for checking. According to district police officers, Mahinder also reportedly fired upon the cops on duty. But the villagers and Mahinder’s family members dismissed the police theory and claimed that he was innocent. They also blocked traffic on the main highway near Bhiwani on Thursday to demand a thorough probe into the incident.
