“ASI should help to strengthen security around mosque”

VELLORE: Vellore Superintendent of Police N. Arivuselvam has requested the Archaeological Survey of India to provide sufficient infrastructure to strengthen security around the mosque inside the fort to prevent unauthorised entry of persons. This follows an agitation by the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam demanding permission to worship in the mosque.

Mr. Arivuselvam told The Hindu that the western entry to the Thiruvalluvar University and the Government Museum via the mosque has been closed.
