WB team inspects Attur Government Hospital

ATTUR: World Bank team inspected the facilities at the Attur Government Hospital on Thursday following allocation of funds for its upgradation.
The hospital was allotted Rs. 1.27 crore under the World Bank-funded Tamil Nadu Health System project.
The hospital located on National Highways 67 caters to a large number of people in Attur, Gengavalli, Talavasal and surrounding areas. Over 1,000 people visit the hospital seeking treatment in a day. People in the town and Attur taluk have been demanding for long to improve the facilities in the hospital and increase the number of beds. The Government allotted funds for constructing new buildings with 48 more beds.
The team comprising senior doctors inspected the hospital premises and equipment available in it. They also interacted with the doctors and the patients. Officials said that tenders for the construction of new buildings would be called in the next month.
