CHENNAI: Two persons, who forged address and identity proof documents, including ration, PAN and voter ID cards, and sold them to those applying for passports and bank loans, were arrested here on Saturday.

The police said S. Babu of MGR Nagar and R. Ramesh of Nesapakkam were arrested following investigations in a case involving a Sri Lankan Tamil Nandan alias Nandakumaran, arrested some time ago.

Nandan, from Vavuniya in Sri Lanka, had produced fake voter ID and ration cards to secure an Indian passport.

During interrogation, he admitted to having received the documents from an agent.

The police tracked down Babu and Ramesh and recovered 62 fake driving licences, five PAN cards and two voters’ ID cards.
