Exhibition on renewable energy

KOCHI: Sebastian Paul, MP, will inaugurate ‘Urja 2008,’ a national exhibition on renewable energy and energy efficiency organised jointly by the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action and the Society of Energy Engineers and Managers at Town Hall on Monday at 5 p.m.

The exhibition will be on till June 27.

It will be open for public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no entry fee.

The exhibition to be attended by delegates from 20 Non-Aligned and other developing countries is being organised in association with international workshop on cleaner production and energy conservation for sustainability and would help give international exposure to the participants.

It is also being supported by ANERT and Energy Management Centre of the State government, the French Agency for Environment and Energy Management and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership, Vienna, the organisers of Urja 2008 said at a press conference here.

The main participants at the exhibition include Suzlon Vestas, V-Guard, Hykon, Technomax Solar, Kotak Urja, Team Sustain, Netpro Org Energy and Kraftwork Solar.

Besides, the Energy Conservation Society, Hyderabad, the World Institute of Sustainable energy, Pune, the Kerala State Electricity Board, the Southern Railway and Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala are also expected to participate.

The exhibition aims at showcasing best practices, technologies, equipment and producers in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
