PUDUCHERRY: The Oulgaret unit of the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) on Saturday urged the territorial government to ensure the early completion of the works related to the women and child hospital project. A resolution adopted at a meeting of the NFIW unit expressed dismay over the suspension of works related to construction of the multi-crore hospital. Though the government announced in January last that the works would be completed by March, the project had not made much headway, the resolution said. The unit urged the government to provide subsidy for liquefied petroleum gas to reduce the burden of the consumers as it had been done in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
