Lucknow: In view of the coming Lok Sabha elections, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has geared up its cadres for expediting the membership drive, which was launched on June 2, to achieve the target of inducting one crore new primary members. The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) is also taking steps to activate the defunct district Congress committees and reorganisation of the respective party committees up to the booth level. “UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi has directed all the office bearers and functionaries of the party to cooperate in achieving membership targets,” said UPCC spokesman Virendra Madan. UPCC president has fixed a target of enrolling one crore primary members in the party.
