Home guard shot dead in U.P. town

Varanasi: Three motorcycle-borne persons shot dead a home guard at Gyanpur in Bhadohi district of eastern Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday. Raj Kumar (38) of Giridharpur was standing outside the home guard office in Gyanpur on Friday when three unidentified persons arrived on a motorcycle and fired three shots at him. Kumar died on the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
