Advocates urged to fight cases of the poor

Chitradurga: Minister for Social Welfare D. Sudhakar has urged advocates to take up the cases of the poor.

Speaking at the annual day celebrations of the Legal Forum of Saraswati Law College here on Saturday, he said that countless poor had been deprived of justice as they were financially weak to pay an advocate’s fee. “It is an opportunity for advocates to serve the needy people”, he said and added that the the job of advocates was vital for the society.

Referring to the statistics of the college, he said that the college had produced over 5,000 law graduates, many of whom had become famous in the State.

Mr. Sudhakar announced Rs. 5,000 each to seven students who scored the highest marks in the college examinations. He assured to get all the help from the Government for the development of the college infrastructure.
